Continuing Professional Development
Research has shown over several decades that it is very common for autistic individuals to have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, with some research studies estimating the co-occurrence is up to 70%. Even if the person does not meet the full diagnostic criteria for ADHD, they have daily problems with executive function, including difficulties with focus, concentration, planning, organisation, time management and impulsivity.
This course will cover the latest research on autism and ADHD, the additional strengths and challenges of being autistic and having ADHD, and strategies to cope across school, work, leisure and home. ADHD and autism across the age span will be covered. The purpose of the course is to equip participants to understand and support their own ADHD or their child’s or clients to maximise the possibility of the best outcomes.
